Digital wind assessment (DWA):
Digitalized solution for preparing wind assessment reports
In 2022, the German government introduced a law to increase the share of areas designated for wind power to at least two percent of the country’s land area. This expansion aims to meet the demand for self-sufficiency using renewable energies. The foundations for strong wind power growth in Germany have thus been laid. To ensure a wind park’s economic success, precisely determining its wind power potential and yields is absolutely paramount. A wind assessment report is essential for evaluating the site and securing funding. Planning requirements are increasing and consequently so will the capital needed to build wind power plants. With that in mind, bank investment security and the need to speed up processing steps are becoming increasingly important.
Preparing wind assessment reports can be complex and time-consuming, usually taking several months. The assessor has to conduct on-site inspections, comply with a range of formalities, potentially obtain additional expert reports, and put the entire process in order. Our DWA (digital wind assessment) takes a fraction of the time by digitalizing layout checks and data analyses, creating a wind model, and providing other beneficial features. The DWA structures tasks from start to finish and collects the data in a central location. This digitalized solution saves you time because it enables you to submit funding application documents more quickly. The result is a wind assessment report that meets all the requirements of the FGW’s Technical Guideline 6 “Determination of wind potential and energy yields” (TG 6).
Drawing on years of experience in a wide range of areas in the energy sector and in using machine learning to optimize processes, we offer you a wealth of expertise:
When ordering, you submit the required information along with wind measurements and yield data. You’ll then receive a personal URL for retrieving the assessment report later on.
We analyze the data, perform the yield calculation using a site-specific wind model, and create the necessary diagrams and tables. We then bring together all the components to provide you with an assessment report that complies with TG 6.
We generate a PDF of the assessment report and summarize all the relevant results in an additional Excel file.
You can retrieve the assessment report and the summary as a ZIP file via your personal URL.
