Putting research into practice: 4cast has been leveraging science-based principles to shape the energy transition since 2016. Our team of experts, spanning meteorology, mathematics, physics, computer science, machine learning, and data science, collaborates closely to generate precise yield forecasts for renewable energy-generating plants.

Across the globe, energy generation is being completely rethought and shifting toward renewables such as wind and solar. Producers, energy traders, and grid operators are facing major challenges as a result. The grid operators have to guarantee grid stability, and they can only do that if they are provided with feed-in volumes that are as realistic as possible. As for the producers, optimal plant operation is the top priority, while the traders rely on actually being able to deliver the marketed energy quantity. All that is made difficult by the volatility of wind and solar as renewable energy sources.

4cast takes this factor out of the equation. Our mission is to provide highly accurate forecasts of how much energy will be delivered by a specific generation plant at a particular time in addition to determining the resulting yields. That makes us the driving force behind renewables.
